The aim of the registered society “Museum of People‘s Architecture and Rural Culture Schwarzbach e.V." is to take off farm-houses which are historically valuable and can‘t be maintained in their present places and   rebuild them at Schwarzbach again. The area of the museum at Schwarzbach is being continually extended.  We started our activities in 1997 when it was necessary to .move a farm-house with stable and living rooms dated from 1715 from the village of Doberenz to the Schwarzbach Museum. The dwelling area of that building was originally a so-called “Umgebindehaus“ (Upper Lusatian house). That was the main building of a three-sided farm. The building was several times changed in the past. The  current state of the house essentially looks like that from 1836.

Our society would like to give the today‘s and tomorrow‘s people an understanding of the life in the past so that it never will be forgotten.

We offer special events for children and young people. These can also be used by schools and kindergartens. There will be offered a wide range of themes. They range from roasting coffee, baking, churning or walking on stilts to bowling and forming with loam. We will help you to arrange a birthday party for your child. We will do our best to meet your wishes within the framework of what we have available. Please give us a call or send us an email and we will tell you which activities would be best for your child or children to do. We can also post you our list of offers. Be our guest during the published opening hours or in a pre-arranged time.

Our society would like to give the today‘s and
